Idaho Preferred is more than a logo. It’s a statewide network of producers, processors, ag-artisans, chefs, distributors, and retailers working together to bring Idaho-grown products to market.
As a program of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, Idaho Preferred provides trusted recognition and coordinated support to help identify and promote products that are grown, raised, and made in Idaho. With more than 300 members across the state, the program amplifies your story, strengthens your connections, and helps position your business for long-term success.

In 2003, the Idaho Department of Agriculture launched Idaho Preferred, a strategic marketing program dedicated to supporting Idaho’s agricultural community. Designed to assist a wide range of stakeholders, including consumers, retailers, distributors, restaurants, chefs, farmers markets, and farm-to-school initiatives, the program makes it easier to identify and source locally grown, raised, and crafted agricultural products. Idaho Preferred connects local producers to a variety of channels, fostering stronger relationships and enhancing market opportunities for all involved.

The Idaho Preferred® Logo
The distinctive Idaho Preferred logo helps consumers easily identify and support Idaho’s food and agricultural products. It’s more than a label. It’s a trusted signal of authenticity.
Established over 20 years ago by Idaho farmers, ranchers, food crafters, retailers, and the Idaho State Department of Agriculture, the program was created to ensure that products marked with the Idaho Preferred name genuinely derive from Idaho agriculture.
*To use the distinguished logo, products must meet specific eligibility standards based on Idaho-grown or raised agricultural content by weight. This protects the integrity of the mark and builds trust with the people who rely on it every day.

We promote, connect, and educate Idaho producers, developing marketplace sustainability or desired growth. Review each producer or partnership packet to learn more about the ways we can support or collaborate with your operation.
