Idaho native McKinley Dixon owns and operates the business, having studied integrated plant sciences at WSU. The rest of the family helps during harvest and occasionally will hop on a tractor.

Idaho wild rice is unique with a longer, fatter grain. It’s been genetically isolated for 80+ years and has been allowed to uniquely adapt to the PNW.

We grow our wild rice without: fertilizer, pesticides, fungicides, etc.. River deltas and migratory birds provide all its needed nutrients naturally. In turn, the migratory birds feed on the wild rice seeds.

Until 2021, all Northern Latitude’s wild rice was sold wholesale, but we have since launched our own vertical consumer brand.
